No Street Name For Maoist Thug
Third Congressional District Republican candidate Arthur
Jones, denounced the proposal to honor the late Black Panther leader Fred
Hampton with a street named in memory of him, as "an insult to every police
officer, fireman and paramedic in this city."
Jones added, "I am sick and tired of seeing this city
desecrated by renaming streets and schools and parks in honor of every minority
member who had a grudge against lawful authorities."
"The
fact is," said Jones, "Fred Hampton was a follower of the Communist
mass murderer Mao Tse Tung, the late dictator of Communist China. And the black
Panther Party which Hampton led, followed the teachings of Mao, who proclaimed,
"Power comes from the barrel of a gun."
"For this city to honor a Black Marxist/Maoist
revolutionist thug with a street named in his honor, is to spit on the graves of
policemen and firemen in this city and across the country who died at the hands
of these Black revolutionaries who set our country ablaze in the 1960's,"
said Jones.
Continued Jones, "If you want to honor someone who died
violently, I suggest we honor the memory of Lori Roscetti, a beautiful, young
white woman in medical school who was murdered and raped after her violent
death, by three young Black males on Oct. 18, 1986. Why no street to honor her
Mayor Daley?"
"I call upon the Mayor of the white political leadership,
to stand up and say no to naming streets, parks or schools in honor of Communist
radicals or criminal thugs, no matter what their race may be."
"If the Mayor and the city council cave in to the demands
of Black radicals like Congressman Bobby Rush, then it is time to look for new
leadership for the white voters and taxpayers of this city, outside of the
corrupt ranks of the Democratic Party," Jones concluded.
