American Police Officer Denied Justice By Feds
Stephanie Mohr is a Prince George County Police officer in the
state of Maryland. She has earned for her out-standing police work, over 25
letters of citations and two awards. She is also currently an inmate at a prison
in the State of West Virginia - her sentence 10 years in prison! Her
crime - she did her job. Her jailer - the U.S. Department of Justice -
Civil Rights Division.
On September 21, 1995, Officer Mohr, and her police dog "Valk,"
and her partner, Police Sergeant Anthony Delozier, received a call for back-up
from another police officer who spotted two men on a store roof. They arrived on
the scene as the officer was ordering the two men to get down off the roof and
face the wall of the store they had planned on breaking into.
The two suspects were illegal aliens - Herrera Cruz, from
Mexico and Ricardo Mendez, from El Salvador. It was when Mendez tried to escape,
that Officer Mohr rather than shoot the felon, released her dog on the suspect.
The dog bit Mendez on the leg and held him until he was handcuffed.
Both men were charged and convicted with 4th degree burglary.
Cruz pled guilty was sentenced to time served deported back to Mexico. Mendez
was convicted of illegally entering the U.S. and of selling crack cocaine and
deported back to El Salvador.
Five years later, the U.S. Department of Justice indicted
Officer Mohr for violating the "Civil Rights," of Richard Mendez - the
dope dealing illegal alien! This is Officer Mohr's crime - her dog biting his
leg after he tried to escape! In the first trial, Officer Mohr was acquitted by
a jury vote of 11-1. But the U.S. Justice Department whipped up into a frenzy by
minority pressure groups, flew the two criminals back to this country and in a
second trial Officer Mohr was found guilty of violating the Civil Rights of this
criminal scum - Ricardo Mendez - and sentenced to 10 years in prison! She has
already served 3 years!
This courageous police officer needs your help to win her
freedom and for a new trail in U.S. Court in Maryland.
In addition to being a dedicated police officer, Stephanie
Mohr has a family she deserves to be returned to. She has a husband whom she
loves and an 8 year old son who was 5 when she was sent to prison. If she
is not freed, she will miss most of his childhood, at a time when a child needs
both parents.
According to the LAW ENFORCEMENT LEGAL DEFENSE FUND (LELDF)
an organization set up to defend good police officers persecuted for doing their
jobs as they were trained to do, the cost to appeal for a new trial will be at
least 35,000.00.
Officer Mohr was forced to resign from her police job so she
nor her husband have the money needed for appealing her case.
The Federal government has billions of tax dollars to spend
on persecuting police officers, paramedics, firemen, border patrol agents whose
only "crime" is doing their jobs upholding law, preserving order and
defending lives and protecting property.
Officer Mohr has only one chance to win back her
freedom and that is for those reading this to get angry at this outrageous
miscarriage of justice and join the fight to free Stephanie Mohr from prison.
Please help us to free this courageous American.
